THE 80th Araw ng Dabaw Cycling Competition will unreel on March 25 at the Moto-X Farm in Barangay Langub, Davao City.
Philcycling Deputy Secretary-General for Mindanao Salvador Paholio Jr. Thursday, February 9, said the race will serve as a preparation for the upcoming Philippine National Games and 2017 Batang Pinoy National Championships.
“We made it a free-registration event for the kids who made sterling performances during the Batang Pinoy National Championships in Tagum,” Paholio said.
He, however, said participants need to submit their requirements on Monday, February 13, which is also the deadline of entries.
Paholio added the Sports Development Division-City Mayor's Office approved the budget of P55,000 that will cover all prizes of the event.
Categories are road bike an mountain bike 19 and under, boys 15 and under, boys 13 and under and ladies open.
Paholio also said the BMX event will be exclusive for boys 13 and under riders.
“Di pa kasi siya ganun ka expose, kaya maliit lang ine-expect na participants (The event isn’t that exposed so we expect few participants),” he said.
Winners of all categories will receive P3,000 while P2,00 and P1,000 will be awarded to the next two finishers.
