Give Cinematheque Davao a try as the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), Mindanao Film and TV Development Foundation, and Meritus Prime places romance on the level of film appreciation and... wine.
Anthony Rebamonte of the FDCP in last Tuesday's Art Talk at the RBG Grill of Park Inn by Radisson said that the event will feature a Filipino romantic movie, local musicians, poets, spoken word artists, and an exhibit of Dabawenyo visual artists. This, on top of wine by Meritus Prime. This will be on February 25, starting 5 p.m. Ticket price is P100.
"It's a different kind of Sawi," Rebamonte said. "Our call is - don't be art-broken."
Rebamonte called on students who want to become filmmakers that the Guerilla Film Making Workshop for schools will start next weekend. The workshop is open to all high school and college students, and also faculty.
Topics will cover story development and screenwriting, digital cinematography, directing, editing, sound recording, production design, production management, and film marketing and ethics. It will be held for four weekends: February 18 to 19, February 25 to 26, March 4 to 5, and March 11 to 12 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Registration fee is only P1,000 if without lunch and P2,500 with lunch. The rates will include a handbook, t-shirt, certificate, and snacks. Pre-registration is required.
