FIVE election officers from Cebu have been reshuffled to different offices since early this week.

Commission on Elections (Comelec) Central Visayas Director Rafael Olano has been transferred to Region 4-B or Mimaropa since April 10.

Olano will be temporarily replaced by his assistant director, lawyer Veronico Petalcorin.

Olano told VoxPop Cebu that his transfer is in relation to the upcoming barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.

Starting April 14, Saturday, the filing of the certificate of candidacy (COC) for the barangay and SK elections will start.

Olano said his assignment in Mimaropa will be temporary while the position of regional election officer in the region is not filled.

Election officers assigned in the cities of Cebu, Mandaue and Talisay were also reshuffled starting Friday, April 13.

Cebu City South District Election officer lawyer Edwin Cadungog will be transferred to Mandaue City, temporarily replacing City Election officer lawyer Anna Fleur Gujilde.

Gujilde will be transferred to Cadungog's post, while Cebu City North District election officer lawyer Marchel Sarno will exchange offices with Talisay City Election Officer lawyer Gallardo Escobar. (Justin K. Vestil/VoxPop Cebu)
