ASPIRING boys and girls basketeers aged 10-14 years old experienced the Jr. NBA’s free basketball clinic on Saturday and Sunday at the Bacolod Tay Tung High School covered court.

Organizers of the two-day event were looking forward to develop more local cagers to follow the footsteps of Bacolod City-hailed Jr. NBA cagers like Kib Montalbo, the first Jr. NBA-Bacolod selection and current De La Salle University Archers guard, and SamJosef Belangel, now with Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eaglets, as well as Daniel Coo, Andrew Velasco, Fritz Valencia, Harold Alarcon, and Andre Lechoncito.

Under the Jr. NBA program, Bacolod was able to produce a number of potential cagers given the opportunity to expose their skills and talents.

Two years ago, Bacolod had sent 14 aspiring basketeers in Jr. NBA Bacolod camp that included Nicholas Steven Pura, Kurt Coloso, Ralph Allen Cagalawan, K Christian Perigua, Kent Dentin Esperagazo, John Dexter Gigantana, Andy John Villamer, Samareño Kurt Jan Aparri, Karla Sheen Cotejo, Dyna Sicil Nieves, Luisa Martina de la Paz, and Rodnie Mae Hodilena.
