ASUS Philippines expressed confidence that its newly-launched gaming laptop, the Asus FX502, will be a big hit in the country.

Asus Philippines Public Relations Head Antoneil Harvey Factora, in an interview with VoxPop Davao, said the new laptop was made available to the public in a very affordable price for the gaming category.

“We are expecting it will be more of a hit because if the market is anticipating gaming laptops with some P80,000 to P100,000, how much more with this model (Asus FX502)? This is only available at P69,995 as initial price,” he said last November 22, during the Republic of Gamers (ROG) assembly-Davao leg at The Royal Mandaya Hotel in Davao City.

The new model was launched on the same day in the city. The nationwide launching was held last November 21 in Manila.

Factora said the gaming industry in the country is a hundreds of thousands-strong market from hardcore, professional and enthusiast gamers.

For Davao City alone, he said, around 500 hardcore/professional gamers are recorded here.

The Asus FX502 is a 15-inch gaming laptop packed in a compact and lightweight design.

“It has the latest 6th generation Intel processor, Windows 10 and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics,” Factora shared.

In a primer, the new laptop was described to give users superior images with lifelike colors with its 100 percent sRGB color gamut. It has a Hyper Cool Duo-Copper cooling system that uses heat pipes and a dual fan system to cool CPU and GPU independently.

Meanwhile, the ROG Assembly, a four-leg event which was opened in Davao City, also had its assemblies in the cities of Cebu, Cagayan de Oro and Baguio.

“These are four priority markets for ROG because we are strong there, we wanted to continue the push in empowering these regions because we have big opportunities here, in terms of business and talent opportunity,” Factora said.

Also, Factora shared that Asus shared 47 percent in the Philippine market making the brand the top company in this kind of business here.

“We have a strong foothold in the Philippines, especially for the gaming industry,” he said.

Factora, during tha Davao launch and assembly, urges everyone to participate in the firm’s global campaign “Join the Republic” which is a call to action, to rally everyone, whether one is a pro gamer or just an enthusiast, someone that is starting to learn the gaming industry. It is free for all platforms.

He added the campaign was launched this year as part of the company’s 10th anniversary celebration.
