ATENEO Junior High School (JHS), PCT and Aguilas Dabaw posted two victories each at the start of the Davao Region Football Association (DRFA) under-17 (U17) Girls' Futsal tournament at the Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU) Fr. Martinez covered court in Matina, Davao City recently.
Ateneo JHS blanked Holy Cross of Mintal, 8-0, before thrashing University of Mindanao (UM), 23-1, while the Philippine College of Technology (PCT) demolished UM, 14-0, and HCM, 7-0, to share lead in bracket A team standings with identical 2-0-0 win-draw-loss record. UM and HMC shared the cellar with two straight defeats.
In bracket B, Aguilas Dabaw subdued Crossing Bayabas National High School (CBNHS), 2-0, then outlasted Ateneo Senior High School (SHS), 5-3, to grab the top spot of the group rankings.
CBNHS, however, bounced back to defeat Khanj Football Club (FC), 3-0. The latter earlier crushed Ateneo SHS, 9-2.
The bootfest, which will resume Sunday, October 9, is backed up by Ateneo and ADDU athletics office, TMS Shipping Agencies, Inc., Khanj T-shirt maker, GHT Water Refilling Station, Laundry Shop, Perm Janitorial, and General Allied Services. (MLSA)
