THE Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU) girls volleyball team recovered from a first set loss to beat Holy Cross College of Sasa (HCCS) in the crossover semi-finals of the Davao Association of Catholic Schools (Dacs) High School Volleyball tournament held at the University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC) Bajada Gym Saturday, September 24.

Ateneo, which succumbed to costly errors in the first set, bounced back behind Karissa Parcon's power spikes to seal the win, 18-25, 25-20, 25-14.

Ateneo, thus, arranged a titular showdown against the winner between Assumption College of Davao (ACD) and UIC who were still playing as of Saturday.

Ateneo head coach Mario Mojica, in an interview with VoxPop Davao, said his players were tense in the first set and went on succumbing to miscues but they got their acts together and tightened defense to come back in the game.

"The players were tight, di sila makagalaw kaya medyo madaming errors, nine errors from us is equivalent to nine points for them," Mojica said, hoping they win the championships.

He, however, said either ACD or UIC will be a tough team to beat. (ABM)
