WHEN traveling, I don’t mind much of the room I’ll be staying. I am more excited about the spots and adventure rather than the accommodation. I’m cool for as long as I can sleep, safe and sound.
Let’s say, I’m more of into a backpacker-millennial-explorer type of stay. But my home for three nights and four days, April 22 to 25, in Boracay was a way, way different story. It was grand. It is an accommodation you wish every hotel establishment can offer.
When we arrived on the 22nd of April, afternoon, at the Azalea Hotels & Residences-Boracay in Zone 7-C, Boracay, we were warmly embraced by the hotel’s staffs with welcome drinks, garland (which I kept in my drawer up until now) and greetings of holiday excitement.
During our stay, I could say, the hotel was fully-booked. Good thing? It is still neat and staffs can attend to anyone’s needs. Koreans and other foreign tourists, I observed, occupied most of the hotel, and I won’t ask why foreign tourists always pick best.
Upon entering the lobby, tourists, especially those who are not on the rush, shall not let a minute pass without taking a photo with its globe-shaped welcome landmark with the hotel’s name in it – Azalea. It is a thing when staying there.
When our guide directed us to our room at the third floor, a scent of comfort and relaxation greeted our worn-out body. What a relief!
We stayed at the two-bedroom apartment suite; the room was nice because it’s spacious and furnished with separate rooms, kitchen, and dining facilities. Azalea also has one and three-bed suites, where we stayed, that are perfect for a family or barkada getaway.
Our 60-square-meter room has one master’s bedroom with one king-sized bed and private bathroom; one guest room with one king-sized bed with Cable TV; convertible sofa bed, living, dining and kitchen facilities; one common bathroom; mini bar and a Wi-Fi access.
Staying there felt really more like a home, it’s comfortable, it’s modern, it’s what every person wish to sleep and chill. I really had a peaceful and satisfying sleep during our stay.
The hotel’s location may not be beachfront, but it’s not an issue for me because it still just steps away from the beach and is more tranquil.

We were told that we will be staying in a holiday haven. No. I prefer to describe the hotel beyond just a holiday haven because it is, for me, an everyday haven every tourist should seek.
