BACOLOD City Mayor Evelio Leonardia said Monday, August 14, Senior Superintendent Jack Wanky, acting director of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), should seriously work to address the robbery incidents in the city.
“They should intensify visibility patrol to pre-empt the operations of the lawless elements especially during night time and wee hours,” Leonardia said.
Last week, business establishments in various areas were robbed by unidentified suspects. The suspects carted away gadgets and cash.
“This is really something to be concerned with and the police must double their efforts to identify and arrest the suspects,” Leonardia said.
“This is about his (Wanky) own performance and career to maintain peace and order. This is a challenge for him to ensure the safety of the public,” he said.
Leonardia added that policemen should be deployed on the streets so that chances of crime incidents will be lessened.
The mayor had earlier ordered Wanky to focus on illegal drugs and illegal gambling as well as on the anti-criminality campaign.
Leonardia also urged the public to be vigilant and cooperate with the police to address crime incidents.
