THE PhilSeven Foundation Inc. turned over Wednesday, January 31, two “Gulong ng Karunungan” vehicles to the Bacolod City Government.
The foundation is the corporate social responsibility arm of Philippine Seven Corp., the operator of 7-Eleven stores.
The two multi-cab vehicles with complete learning materials were turned over by vice chairman Liwayway Fernandez with development division manager Francis Medina to Mayor Evelio Leonardia in rites held at the Bacolod Government Center.
Liwayway said they are donating the two vehicles for the learning of the children, adding that they are targeting three to four-year-old children to avail of the project.
“We chose Bacolod because right now, of the 46 7-Eleven stores in Negros Occidental, almost 50 percent are here in the city so we want to give back and share the blessings to the people of Bacolod,” she added.
Medina said it is their main goal to give back to the communities and aside from these learning vehicles; they are also planning to build another project, a community playground in Bacolod.
Leonardia said he is thankful to the PhilSeven Foundation Inc., adding that the vehicles will be turned over to the Department of Social Services Development (DSSD).
He said the DSSD will identify the nursery schools that will use the learning materials.
“This donation will benefit our children and it is a big help to us,” he added.
