SUPERINTENDENT Luisito Acebuche, head of Bacolod City Police Office Public Safety Company (BCPSC), will take over as officer-in-charge of Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) effective October 1.
Acebuche will replace Executive Assistant Armando Tubongbanua, who submitted his resignation letter Friday to Mayor Evelio Leonardia.
Leonardia said that last week, he met with Executive Assistant Celestino Guara, Senior Superintendent Flynn Dongbo, acting director of BCPO, Chief Inspector Ruel Culanag, head of Traffic Management Unit, Acebuche, and Tubongbanua.
He said Tubongbanua will stay as a BTAO-OIC only until September 30 because he has an another commitment.
“For now, both Tubongbanua and Acebuche will work together to improve the traffic situation in Bacolod,” Leonardia added.
Acebuche is a former station commander of Police Station 1 and also used to head the BTAO.
Leonardia said that Acebuche is a MassKara veteran and he is a positive addition to the team.
He added that Councilor Dindo Ramos, chair of committee on transportation, agreed that Acebuche is the right man for the job.
Leonardia said he is thankful to Tubongbanua for his valuable contribution to Bacolod especially on traffic management.
