WHILE majority of Negros Occidental officials are already set to join the ruling Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) on October 1, Bacolod City officials have yet to decide on joining the administration party.

Yves Akol, secretary-general of PDP-Laban Negros Island Region, said Mayor Evelio Leonardia seems to be open for the possibility.

“The last time I talked to Mayor Leornardia, he said that he still have to discuss it with his party since they (belong to the) Nationalist Peoples Coalition,” Akol said.

“If they decide to join PDP-Laban, it should either be next week or before October 1,” he added.

Akol said that he would love for everybody to be united and “put our acts together for the province and the country.”

So far, more than a hundred provincial officials are set to join the oath- taking to be led by Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. on October 1.

These include 94 members of the United Negros Alliance and nine members of Love Negros.
