A TOTAL of 147 personnel of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) will be initially deployed for Oplan Sumvac (Summer Vacation) on April 7.

BCPO spokesperson Noel Polines Monday, April 3, said policemen will be assigned in churches, shopping malls, commercial centers, public terminals, sea ports, tourist destinations, beach resorts, hotels, and major thoroughfares.

Two policemen will man assistance desks at the said areas.

Polines said additional policemen will be deployed during the Lenten Season next week.

They will also need the help of force multipliers in every barangay to assist the police visibility patrol, Polines said.

The BCPO is intensifying their campaign against street crimes especially this summer, as families would usually leave their houses for vacation.

Polines is urging police chiefs to assess their deployment plan to determine crime-prone areas and to focus on crime clocking to avoid hold-up and akyat-bahay incidents.

He also reminded the public to be very cautious about their expensive valuables when they leave their homes.
