Bacolod police traffic unit ask to assist enforcers

Published on

THE City Council passed a resolution requesting the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO)-Traffic Management Unit (TMU) through Senior Superintendent Jack Wanky to assist the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) enforcers in maintaining flow of traffic and enforcing rules.

The resolution, authored by Councilor Caesar Distrito, cited that the TMU is responsible in the maintenance of the flow of traffic in the city and in the strict implementation of the traffic rules.

The BTAO designates traffic enforcers tasked to ensure smooth flow of traffic.

The resolution stated that despite the efforts made by the traffic enforcers, the assistance of the BCPO-TMU is still needed particularly in the strict and proper implementation of traffic rules and in the apprehension of violators.

The concerted effort of the BTAO and the TMU in managing the flow of traffic and implementation of traffic rules is urgently needed to address once and for all the issues and complaints on the heavy traffic congestion in most parts of the city, it added. (CNC)
