BACOLOD City Councilor Dindo Ramos, chairman of the committee on transportation, said Friday, Nov.18, the City Government will install more traffic lights in seven junctions.
Ramos said he will meet with Superintendent Luisito Acebuche, chief of
Bacolod Traffic Authority Office-Traffic Management Unit (BTAO-TMU), to determine the areas where the traffic lights would be installed.
“We hope to ease traffic in areas where those traffic lights would be installed,” he said.
Ramos added that traffic enforcers will undergo more trainings especially in the synchronization of their actions with the traffic lights to avoid congestion.
Moreover, the councilor said the City Legal Office and the BTAO-TMU are already mandated to remove all illegal road structures and obstructions in six months.
“We will observe order in our roads to ease traffic congestion especially on illegal parking based on the ordinance passed by the City Council,” Ramos said.
In the 2017 budget, there will be an allocation for towing and dump trucks to remove vehicles illegally parking as well as other road obstructions.
