BACOLOD Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) will implement a total closure of Magsaysay-Araneta Streets starting August 7, BTAO Head Luisito Acebuche said.

Acebuche on Sunday, July 31, said they will close the road from August 7 to 21, from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m., for the installation of the steel beams of the flyover.

On July 26, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) asked the BTAO for a total closure of Magsaysay-Araneta Streets to allow the contractor to work continuously and avoid accidents in the project.

Acebuche said the original schedule of the road closure request was from 3 p.m.to 5 a.m., but it was moved to lessen the traffic congestion in the area.

He said all vehicles from Barangay Sum-ag will take a right turn to Purok Hollow Blocks or Alijis Road towards downtown or Lacson Street.

All vehicles from Barangay Singcang-Airport will take a left turn to Yulo Extension towards the downtown area.

Vehicles from Barangay Taculing or Magsaysay Street will take a left turn to Goldenfield Commercial Complex, then right turn to Purok Bulak towards the Araneta Highway.

Vehicles from the downtown area will take Lizares Extension. Vehicles from Lacson Street will take the right turn to Magsaysay towards the Goldenfield.

Acebuche said about 45 traffic enforcers will be deployed along Magsaysay-Araneta Streets.

He added that after the installation of the beams, the area will be passable again.
