A MAN is facing charges before the court after he allegedly stabbed a tricycle passenger in Bankerohan, Davao City last month.
Charged with attempted murder is Raffy Diguma Merilio.
In a resolution, prosecutor Faizal Padate found probable cause to charge the accused based on the complaint filed by Edwin Apan Alongan.
Alongan, in his affidavit, said that he and his cousins were on board a tricycle when the accused and his companions blocked their way.
The complainant begged the accused to forgive the tricycle driver whom he had a misunderstanding with. Alongan and his cousins and the tricycle driver then were able to leave.
After a while, the complainant returned but the latter allegedly stabbed the complainant at the back while the companions of the accused allegedly mauled Alongan.
The complainant sustained stabbed wounds on the right paravertebral area.
A certain Miro Brigole then came to pacify the accused and his companions, numbering to 10 persons and that was when the latter hurriedly left the area.
The accused was arrested after the complainant saw him outside a coco lumber store after he was discharged from the hospital.
Padate said he found the accused liable for attempted murder instead of frustrated murder charges originally filed against him based on the complaint and evidence presented to his office.
