THE Bankers Association of the Philippines (BAP) released a statement Wednesday to inform the public that all its member banks will remain fully operational despite the suspension if work in government offices on Thursday, September 21.
"Normal check clearing operations, trading and other financial transactions will be observed to fully serve the banking public," the statement read.

On September 19, President Rodrigo Duterte signed Proclamation 319 formally declaring September 21 as a "National Day of Protest."
The proclamation also suspended the work in government offices and classes in public schools at all levels nationwide.
