THE City Prosecutor’s Office of Bayawan City, Negros Oriental, located along the national road of Barangay Poblacion, was robbed by unidentified men on Wednesday, November 2.
Superintendent Melchor Agustin, chief of Bayawan City Police Station, said the robbers entered the offices at the second floor of the building and carted away some items and firearms.
The incident was discovered by employee Arman de la Cruz at about 7:50 a.m. on Thursday.
Agustin said the Scene of the Crime Operatives team of Dumaguete City conducted inspection in the offices and recovered a bolo on the floor.
The robbers also rummaged through several case folders and files, but no case folders were missing.
Missing items include an Ingram machine pistol, .38 caliber revolver, and P150 cash in one of the offices. Agustin said they cannot yet tell who owns the said firearms.
With the occurrence of the incident, Agustin advised the installation of closed circuit television cameras in the premises of the building.
