BCPO to revise security measures for MassKara

SENIOR Superintendent Flynn Dongbo, acting director of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), Monday said they will revise the security plans for the MassKara Festival next month.

This year’s MassKara Festival is set from October 1 to 23.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia had directed him to review and update their security plans in the wake of the bomb explosion at a night market in Davao City on September 4 that killed 14 people and injured 70 others.

Dongbo said the threat of terrorism can be anywhere, but he assured the Bacolodnons they have nothing to worry about.

Additional personnel will be deployed in vital areas and festival sites to beef up security measures, especially that people are expected to flock in major streets, he added.

“We are asking the public to be more vigilant and report immediately to the police any sighting of suspicious persons or objects,” Dongbo said.
