NO ILLEGAL drugs were found, but more contrabands, including improvised bladed weapons, cigarettes, and cellular phones, were seized during a greyhound operation at Metro Bacolod District Jail-Special Intensive Care Area in Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City, on January 21.

The operation was led by Senior Superintendent Amelito Fuentes, deputy regional director for administration of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Negros Island Region (NIR).

Inspector Mar Louie Salcedo, spokesperson of BJMP-NIR, said the contrabands were recovered inside the inmates' detention cells during the inspection around 4 a.m.

Salcedo said the jail officers were again reminded to strictly enforce proper inspection to prevent contrabands from entering the jail.

The jail warden was also told to involve the inmates in religious services for to avoid engaging illegal activities inside the jail, he added.
