Bladed weapons seized in greyhound operation

THE Metro Bacolod District Jail (MBDJ)-Male Dormitory in Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City, confiscated bladed weapons and other contrabands from inmates during the greyhound operation on Friday.

Senior Inspector Norberto Miciano, jail warden, said Friday, November 17, among those seized were improvised knives, utensils, lighters, assorted cigarettes, nails, pairs of scissors, playing cards, and wires during the inspection held at 6:30 a.m.

Miciano said the operation is in line with the continuous Oplan Linis Piitan campaign of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) against the entry of contrabands and illegal drugs in jails nationwide.

Miciano said the non-recovery of illegal drugs is attributed to the strict implementation of search procedure on visitors.

The operation was held in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the village.

The jail has 813 inmates.
