DEFENDING champions Blitz fortified its title retention campaign in the ongoing 2016 D-League Basketball Tournament with an 87-75 win over SKF-Ice Sportswear as Provincial Capitol slaughtered Bacrea-Afino, 86-56.
After Blitz led the half, 36-32, Algin Araneta sizzled for 26 points to anchor Blitz’s offense as Christian Young and Michael Lopez added 11 points.
Andre Enad contributed nine markers while Jun Dublas drilled in 17 points to spearhead SKF in a losing effort. Jade Claridad, Luigi Herrera, and Chris Chua added nine points each.
In the other match, RR dela Cruz fired 16 points, all in the second quarter, to pace Capitol side in a lopsided game as Carlo Acosido added 13 points and Enaya hit nine markers.
Biaco delivered all his 15 points in the first half to lead Bacrea-Afino as Educado added 10 points while Villarina and Daniel chipped in seven points each.(HGD)
