LOGOS Hope, the world’s largest floating book fair, is returning to Cebu after her last visit in 2012. Cebu is only the second stop, after Kuching, since the vessel relaunched into active service again after being closed for a six-month-long technical upgrade project in the engine room. Crew members are really geared up about visiting port cities again after the long hiatus.
Logos Hope will arrive in Cebu on May 5 and will be berthed at Malacañang Sa Sugbo, Presidential berth until May 29. Being the second visit to Cebu, the crew and staff look forward to welcoming many friends back on board. “We very much look forward to returning once more to Cebu,” said Captain Tom Dyer. “We always enjoy the warm welcome, the wonderful hospitality—and the great food too!”
During the previous visit, over 115,000 people visited Logos Hope in Cebu. As the final visit to Cebu during this tour of South East Asia, the crew and staff invite those who have not yet been able to visit to make the most of this opportunity.
Logos Hope’s on board book fair offers an expanded selection of over 5,000 titles at affordable prices. They cover a range of subjects including science, sports, hobbies, cookery, arts, medicine, languages and philosophy. With children’s titles, academic texts, dictionaries, atlases and more, the book fair is something the whole family can enjoy. Additionally, the rest of the Visitor Experience Deck is also open for the public to explore. From the Welcome Area, which introduces the vessel through a short movie and interactive displays, to the International Café, which has ice cream, drinks and snacks for sale, there is sure to be something for everyone.
MV Logos Hope is operated by GBA Ships e.V., an international, charitable organization registered in Germany. Since 1970, the organization has welcomed over 44 million visitors up the gangways in over 150 countries and territories around the world.
MV Logos Hope will open to the public in Cebu from May 5-28. Opening hours are from 10 a.m. - 9:30 p.m. on Tuesdays to Saturdays, and 1 - 9:30 p.m. on Sundays.
The ship will be closed on Mondays. Ticket costs P20 per person; free entrance for children under 13 years old and senior citizens 60 years old and above.
Children ages 14 and below must be accompanied by an adult. Identification card might be required. (PR)
