NINETIES American vocal group Boyz II Men will perform at the 65th Miss Universe pageant happening on Monday, January 30, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
The Miss Universe organization confirmed on Thursday that the four-time Grammy Award-winning group will grace Manila’s soil for the much-anticipated competition.
The trio, composed of Nathan Morris, Wanya Morris and Shawn Stockman, holds the honor of being the best-selling R&B group of all time, with an astounding 64 million albums sold.
Boyz II Men’s past hits include “End of the Road,” “I’ll Make Love To You,” “One Sweet Day,” and “Motownphilly” among others.
Aside from the group, American rapper Flo Rida will also be performing in front of thousands during the coronation night.
The upcoming event is Flo Rida’s second visit in the Philippines after staging a concert back in September 2010.
He’s behind “Right Round,” “Whistle,” “Wild Ones” and “Good Feeling” to name a few.
Meanwhile, the Miss Universe Organization also released new names who will complete the panel of judges.
Joing Bollywood actress and the first Indian Miss Universe Sushmita Sen is former 1993 Miss Universe Dayanara Torres of Puerto Rico.
The model/actress is returning back to the Philippines after her brief stint in local show business in the early 90s.
Leila Lopes, the first Miss Universe from Angola, is also joining as a panel alongside PAPER Editorial Director Mickey Boardman, television star and former model Cynthia Bailey and Emmy and Tony award-winning producer Francine LeFrak.
The 65th Miss Universe is hosted by American comedian Steve Harvey with backstage access with model Ashley Graham.
Former Filipina beauty queen Venus Raj and Filipino-Hawaiian social media influencer and makeup enthusiast Bretman Rock will host the red carpet preliminaries.
