MEMBERS of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) Baguio-Benguet is set to take the lead in the citywide graffiti clean–up drive on April 22.
Rene Sales, chairman of KBP Baguio-Benguet, said during the activity dubbed as Oplan Zero Graffiti, broadcasters will be deployed in the different barangays to paint over graffiti.
Aside from the eradication of graffiti, Sales said they hope to influence people in involving themselves in the fight against graffiti which continues to appear all over the city despite the efforts from the government and different organizations.
Residents of the 128 barangays of the city are expected to join the activity as KBP sought the help of the Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) in the information dissemination.
“Kapag nakitang hindi gumalaw yung barangay, kami mismo ang titira sa kanila. Ginawan na nga ng paraan hindi pa nakiisa,” Sales warned.
In 2008, the Anti-Graffiti Code of the City of Baguio was enacted penalizing unauthorized markings, writings, etchings, drawings, paintings or engravings.
