THE Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) will implement a three-way traffic scheme in front of Robinsons Place Bacolod in Barangay Mandalagan starting Sunday, August 6.

Superintendent Luisito Acebuche, head of BTAO, said on Wednesday, August 2, the new traffic scheme will be implemented between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., from Monday to Saturday.

The dry run will be held on Sunday, and if it will be effective in easing traffic problem in the area, the full implementation will follow on Monday, August 7.

Acebuche said all vehicles from south going to north will use three lanes which will start in front of a gasoline station before the shopping mall while vehicles from north to south will only use one lane.

All passenger jeepneys from north will pass by the bay or parking area of jeepneys in front of the mall.

Acebuche said they decided to try a new scheme after they received complaints from motorists about the traffic congestion in the area during these hours.

Ten traffic aides will be deployed in the area to monitor the traffic flow.
