BTAO told to report monthly collections

Published on

THE Provincial Board of Bacolod passed a resolution requesting the City Treasurer’s Office (CTO) and the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) to regularly submit to the City Council a monthly report on the collections from BTAO.

Councilor Sonya Verdeflor, who authored the resolution, cited City Ordinance 790, Series of 2016 which provides that the city traffic officers or enforcers shall issue a city citation ticket to an erring driver, citing the particular provision of the ordinance he has violated and indicating the imposable fine or penalty for the traffic violation.

The CTO and the BTAO are required to furnish the City Council a monthly report on the collections by virtue of the implementation of said ordinance.

It is observed that after the first monthly report submitted, the CTO and the BTAO has not furnished the City Council of the monthly reports.

The resolution stated that the regular submission by the CTO of said monthly report on collections from the BTAO will inform the council members that the ordinance is being strictly implemented by the BTAO.
