THE Rizal Memorial College (RMC) Bulldogs demolished the New Ilang Achievers Academy Academy (Niaa), 77-58, to keep its unbeaten record in the resumption of Unit 5 Line Meet High School Basketball Tournament held Tuesday, September 27, at the newly-refurbished RMC Gym.
Bulldogs' Rene Jexter Jarligo scored game-high 37 while Niaa's Abdul Batucan made 36 baskets for the team's loss.
RMC, coached by Henry Asilum, capitalized on its speed and defense to secure the match and improve its record to 3-0 while Niaa dropped to 0-2.
Asilum, in an interview with VoxPop Davao, said, he just coached the team two months ago and was proud that his players delivered as expected.
"Five years akong nag-rest from coaching and I'm proud since pagbalik ko wala pang talo ang team ko," Asilum said, said they have been winning through their hard work and not because of their homecourt advantage.
He also focused on the players' endurance and their man-to-man defense.
Jarligo, for his part, said he just did what he had to do, thanking his coach for his program.
"Mas pag bubutihan pa namin sa mga next games," Jarligo added.
RMC was also composed of Melvin James Ando, Allen Eder, Darel Bariquit, Harvey Calatrava, Jexter Jarligo, Zhyfel Jubay, Prince John Luar, Jules Mirafelix, Alfie Lacadan, Julian Madulara, Simon Laurence Pancho, Chadnee Tag-at, and Elmarc Subingsubing.
