BEA Tan and Amanda Villanueva went home with P10,000 and the title of the recently-held first Montilla-Lizares Beach Volleyball Invitational through Pasaway Foundation for Culture, Arts and Social Advancement Inc. in Sipalay City.

The stars of Beach Volleyball Republic (BVR) beat Alexa Poliadrio and Erjane Magbato of University of Negros Occidental Recoletos, 22-20 and 21-17, in the best-of-three sets final.

The UNO-Rians settled for the silver and P8,000 cash prize while Iloilo City's duo of Jackie Estoquia and Dhamie Demontano collected P5,000 for third place.

The Ilonggas struggled, but prevailed, 21-17, 11-21 and 17-15, over the pair of Jennifer Cosas and Rosel Sy of Toby's Bacolod who split their P3,500 purse.

Receiving their consolation prizes of P2,000 each were Foundation University’s Elma and Rose Dicen, and Team Sipalay of Aira Bless Moreno and Julie Ann Samonte.

Getting the same incentives were Kathleen Tagudando and Therese Caunga of Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod and Graciela Millezo and Shaira Lim of Team Gra-Sha of Silay City.

BVR stopped Toby's Bacolod, 21-12 and 21-18 in the crossover while UNO-R walloped Iloilo, 22-24, 23-21 and 17-15 to advance in the championship.
