CADIZ Sluggers and Hacienda Gaston arranged a titular match up this weekend for the 1st Governor Alfredo Maranon Jr. Inter-Hacienda Softball title at Lourdes Ballpark in Manapla.
Bracket A's top dog Gaston survived Bracket B's no. 2 Cadiz Burgos, 7-8 while Bracket A's no. 2 Cadiz Sluggers outplayed Bracket B's top team Dos Hermanos, 8-1 in the semifinals last week.
Cadiz Burgos and Dos Hermanos will play for third and will be followed by the championship match and awarding ceremony.
Manapla town Mayor Lourdes Escalante has reiterated that this softball tournament intends to help fight drugs and bring greater opportunities for the Manaplahanons who loved the sport so much.
Provincial Sports Coordinator Angel Verdeflor said that the event is a justification of how Gov. Maranon supports the sports development program in the province.
The champion will get P10,000 while 1st runner-up takes home P7,000 and the second runner-up will have P5,000. Losing teams will also get P2,000 each. (HGD)
