THE security unit of the Negros Occidental Provincial Government is closely monitoring the reported fake security and firearms licenses of private guards assigned at the Capitol offices.
Security head Venchito Magalona said they are making the move after four security guards assigned at the Negros First Blood Center were reported to possess fake licenses.
“We informed them to strictly secure genuine licenses,” he said.
The Regional Civil Service Unit-Negros Island Region of the Philippine National Police recently conducted an inspection of the firearms carried by the guards working at the various Capitol offices and discovered the fake licenses of guards at the Blood Center.
Magalona noted that private security guards are facing difficulties in securing licenses because there is no training academy for guards in Negros Occidental.
They have to undergo training in Iloilo, he added.
The Capitol has contracts with four security agencies.
