ACTING Provincial Administrator Lucille Gelvolea said on Thursday, May 4 that the Provincial Government is reviewing its contracts with security agencies detailing personnel in Capitol offices.
This came as some security guards have been involved in controversies, including possession of fake licenses and committing violations while on duty.
Gelvolea said the ways to address the problem are being discussed as recommended by Capitol security chief Venchito Magalona, and lawyer Japhet Masculino, head of the Economic Enterprise Development Division.
The review covers the duties and responsibilities of the guards and who oversees them.
“We are also looking into who is accountable for their actions,” she added.
Magalona said personnel from five security agencies are guarding the Provincial Government’s various facilities, including district hospitals located outside Bacolod City.
Provincial Legal Officer Jose Maria Valencia said they are waiting for the incident reports on alleged violations committed by the security guards belonging to Ilobac Security Agency assigned at pala-pala (food terminal).
