THE Philippine National Police (PNP) on Wednesday afternoon released a cartographic sketch of the male suspect on the Davao night market blast on Friday evening, September 2.
At a press conference at Camp Quintin Merecido in Police Regional Office (PRO)-Davao on Wednesday, authorities said the witnesses described the male suspect as thin, around 5'7" tall, and should be around 30 years-old.
PRO-Davao spokesperson, Chief Inspector Andrea dela Cerna said in an interview that the male and two other females seen before the blast are still considered as persons of interest.
Police said earlier that the improvised explosive device (IED) used in the bombing was made out of two mortar ammunition.
Police Regional Director Senior Superintendent Manuel Gaerlan said the IED was made of a 60 millimeters and an 81 millimeters mortar bomb, intended to harm and inflict maximum casualties.
"Lumabasito through reconstructions of the metal fragments recovered from the bodies of the victims and from the blast site. The device was cellphone-activated," Gaerlan told the media.
The authorities have also recovered one sim pack holder and a micro memory SD card.
Further investigations with the help of witnesses are still ongoing.
They are hunting down two women and two men including the one whose cartographic sketch was released.
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio has previously announced she would give P2 million bounty for people who could present information on the identities and whereabouts of the suspects. (With Sunnex)
