CAGAYAN de Oro will host the biggest volleyball tournament thus far in the locality to spice up its coming fiesta revelry.
Dubbed as “2017 Cagayan de Oro City Fiesta Men and Women’s Volleyball Open Tournament,” it will be held on August 26 to 27 with total cash prizes of P200,000 awaiting the winners.
The champions in both categories will get the lion’s share of P50,000 plus trophies.
Second to fourth placers will receive P25,000, P15,000, and P10,000 each.
Pilgrim Christian College and 2017 Loyola Cup titlist Good Health Incorporation of team manager Dr. Dave Obias will be in the forefront of the local squads defending turf in men’s division.
Newly-crowned Shakey’s V-League Northern Mindanao champions Angelicum Learning Center is the hands-down pick to lead the cast in the exciting women’s category.
“Dayohon gayud kini nga torneyo kay dako ang premyo,” said Angelicum coach Bobong Rameri, who is considering at least two reinforcements for Angelicum’s own title bid.
Tournament organizer Alex Adeva is expecting participants from powerhouse Cebu and Davao among other teams from the Visayas and Mindanao to see action.
