THE Central Command (Centcom) in Camp Lapu-Lapu, Lahug, Cebu City is releasing one Army battalion from Panay to Western Mindanao Command (Wesmincom) on Saturday, June 17, following a directive from the headquarters of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
Colonel Medel Aguilar, assistant chief of the unified staff for civil military operations for the AFP-Centcom, said the troops came from the Island of Panay complete with equipment for any possible operation.
"Let us pray for their good health and safety," Aguilar encouraged the public.
When asked if the battalion will act as reinforcements for the ongoing clashes in Marawi City, Lanao Del Sur, Aguilar said it is up to the Wesmincom to decide where to deploy the troops. (VoxPop Cebu)
