CITF spokesperson Chief Inspector Jewel Nicanor identified the arrested policeman as Police Officer 3 Ritchie Camporedondo Saquilabon who was assigned at the Cebu City Police Office Station 1.

Nicanor said Saquilabon was arrested in an entrapment operation in Sanciangko corner Junquera Streets, Cebu City, conducted by the CITF special task group Visayas. The operation stemmed from a complaint received at the CITF headquarters in Camp Crame.

He said based on the report, Saquilabon was demanding for P20,000 from an arrested drug suspect.

Nicanor said according to the complainant, Richie Labus who was arrested over drug charges in Banilad, Cebu, was asked by Saquilabon to give P20,000 in exchange for his release and the dropping of charges against him.

Saquilabon was arrested after receiving the marked money from the complainant.
