Cebu police doubt claims of 2 village watchmen

POLICE are doubting the claims of two village watchmen that they arrested Lendon Abadinas after he allegedly stole something from a store in Barangay Ermita, Cebu City, around 6:30 p.m. Monday, October 9.

Senior Police Officer 1 Winston Ybañez, the homicide section of Cebu City Police Office, said on Wednesday, October 11, Junnel Sanchez and Jerome Miral were possibly making up a story, as there was no complainant against Abadinas.

Sanchez shot Abadinas dead after the latter allegedly tried to escape past midnight Tuesday, October 10.

Miral was arrested after two witnesses, reportedly detainees in the barangay, identified him as the one who punched Abadinas and taped his mouth.

A murder complaint will be filed against Sanchez and Miral before the Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office. (VoxPop Cebu)
