BACOLOD City-based and defending champion Ceres-La Salle FC (10-2-3 win-draw-loss) is back on track to regain its No. 2 spot in the ongoing United Football League.

And, to possibly retain their league crown when they take on Loyola-Meralco Sparks FC (11-1-3 win-draw-loss) Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

The provincial side has slipped to fourth spot after suffering a heartbreaking loss to Kaya which trails at fifth position. Ceres FC currently has 32 points in 15 games while Loyola has 34 points.

Definitely, Ceres FC should find ways to dominate this game as they could not afford to commit error and yield this match.

In a statement, the club’s management said the team is trying its best to win all their remaining games because in football, anything can happen. They are just hopeful that everything will go their way.

Back in August, Ceres FC suffered a 3-2 setback against Loyola-Meralco.

Meanwhile, despite the 2-0 loss by Global FC to JP Voltes FC, the former remained on top with 13-2-1 win-draw-loss card for 41 points in 16 outings followed by the latter with 11-2-4 record for 35 points.

Also seeing action today are Kaya FC going up against Laos FC at 1:30 p.m. while tomorrow features matches between Green Archers United FC and Forza FC followed by the Global FC-Stallion FC game.

The winner of the league will get an automatic spot in next year’s Asian Football Confederation Cup.
