IT WILL be another do-or-die game for Ceres Negros Football Club (FC) at home against Malaysian Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) FC on May 31 at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City.
Ceres FC is optimistic to beat the visitors at home.
“Our game against JDT on May 31 will be very crucial. They aren’t pushovers. They are a former AFC Cup champions and among the best in the Southeast,” Ceres Negros FC Administrator Nicholas Golez said.
“We’re quite sad of the game result in Malaysia but I believe we can beat them at Panaad. Anything can happen,” he added.
Golez said the Panaad Stadium is special for Ceres FC since it gives at least 20 to 30 percent of the team’s efforts because of the home crowd.
“We have beaten Singapore and Vietnam, scoring 11 total goals at home. Bienvenido Marañon is the top scorer in the AFC thus Ceres FC is capable to score goals. Both teams are very much adept to deliver a high scoring face-off,” Golez said.
With Ceres FC getting the respect of their Asian neighbors, Golez said it was not an overnight deal.
“We played with heart as we represent the province and the Philippines. Malaysians are passionate with football but we believe we can surpass it,” he added.
Game starts at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31.
