MALICIOUS mischief and contempt of court may be charged against Ibaloi tribal leader Roger Sinot for issues surrounding the Asin property.
Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan said the legal counsels of the city are preparing the cases to be charged against Sinot for not following orders from the courts as well as destroying fences to seal the property of the city in Tuba, Benguet.
Domogan said previous court decisions have given the city legal right over the Asin properties, which Sinot is likewise claiming over.
The mayor added there is no truth in claims that Asin properties do not belong to the city.
"They cannot change the truth that it is owned by the City Government," the mayor said.
The mayor added even the municipality of Tuba is aware that the property is owned by the city, which has been made public since it was leased to and developed by Sinot.
Domogan made a litany of cases filed and won by the city over Sinot’s claim and said the courts have ruled with finality the last case, which for the ejectment of Sinot from the property.
Domogan added despite the legalities, Sinot continued to operate and occupy the sites, which forced the city to fence the area last week to fortify existing fences in the area.
But the fences were allegedly taken down by Sinot.
