CHARICE has decided to change his name.
Over the weekend, netizens were surprised when the international singer deleted all his Instagram photos and changed his handle to Jake Zyrus.
He also posted a short thank you message to all his loyal supporters.
"From the bottom of my heart, thank you for the love and respect. I love you back and I'm sending peace to everyone," the singer wrote.
Aside from his Instagram account, Charice also updated his Twitter account.
On Tuesday, June 20, he posted his first tweet as Zyrus.
The singer seemed happy with the positive response since he decided to change his professional name.
"Overwhelmed. Saw all your love comments and I'm so happy. Finally. I love you, everyone and see you soon."
Zyrus added that he will not let anyone ruin his happiness.
"I won't let anyone ruin my happiness. Thank you to all the beautiful write ups about me," he tweeted.
Zyrus decision to change his name came after his split with girlfriend Alyssa Quijano in April and his decision to take a break from local show business. (VoxPop Philippines)
