City gov’t employees to get bonus next week

A TOTAL of 1,491 employees of Bacolod City, both in regular and casual plantillas, will receive their mid-year bonus starting next week.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia issued Memorandum No. 83 dated May 3, 2017 directing all department/office heads to start processing the payroll equivalent to one month basic pay to all entitled personnel.

Leonardia said Tuesday, May 9 that the grant of the mid-year bonus shall be in accordance with Budget Circular No.2016-3 dated April 28, 2016, and to be released not earlier than May 15, 2017.

“To appreciate the hard work and dedication in service of city government employees and to help in the school expenses of their children, it is imperative that the mid-year bonus be released at the soonest possible time,” he said.

“We are trying to see it that on May 15, we will start releasing the bonuses,” the mayor added.

Imelda Williams, acting city budget officer, said a budget of P31.6 million has been appropriated for the mid-year bonus.

Bacolod City has a total of 1,404 regular employees, 13 contractual employees, and 74 plantilla casuals.

Williams said they will start releasing the bonuses on May 15 as soon as the employees complete the requirements.

Job order casuals are not covered.
