ENGINEER Isidro Sun Jr., head of the Office of the Building Official (OBO) of Bacolod City, said Friday the contractors of the Ayala Land Inc. (ALI) Capitol Central mall has started to dismantle the collapsed portion of the building.
Sun, who led the inspection of the construction site Friday, said the contractors Makati Development Corporation Build Plus and Kuntel Construction sent their crane trucks to dismantle the debris and scaffolding.
On November 11, two workers were killed when a beam framework collapsed.
Police identified the fatalities as Doddy Boy Mallorca, 30, of Manapla town, and Hercalo Abraham, 36, of Bacolod City.
The victims were pouring cement on the sixth floor of the building when the incident happened, police records showed.
After the incident, OBO issued a stoppage order which was lifted after the architect of the Capitol Central project submitted the logbook of the activities inside the construction site.
Sun said the contractors opened only the collapsed portion of the building Friday to start the construction.
“It will take three more days to dismantle the collapsed portion of the building and they will use high technology equipment," he said.
