ILLEGAL DRUGS and paraphernalia, smartphones, among others, were recovered during a greyhound operation at the Talisay City Jail Friday dawn, December 8.
Superintendent Gil Inopia, Talisay City Jail warden, said they recovered the illegal items at the isolation cell of the male dormitory.
Inopia said they initially received information that illegal drugs were smuggled into the male isolation cell, where six male inmates are currently detained.
Jail personnel led by Inopia conducted a greyhound operation at 3 a.m., which resulted in the recovery of one big pack of shabu, plastic packs with suspected shabu residue, illegal drug paraphernalia, a smartphone-tablet, pocket Wi-Fi, mobile phone charger and a SIM pack.
The contraband were recovered from Yayam Aliman Gaviola, an inmate currently facing an illegal drugs charge.
But Gaviola denied the allegation and accused Arjan Bacus, another inmate who was killed on Thursday, December 7, after he was released from detention.
Inopia said Gaviola will be facing charges of illegal possession of drugs and contraband. (JKV/VoxPop Cebu)
