Contrabands seized in jail

CONTRABANDS like nail cutters, threads, cans, and other unauthorized items were seized during a greyhound operation inside the Metro Bacolod District Jail-Special Intensive Care Area (MBDJ-Sica) in Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City Wednesday morning.

Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency as well as police and jail personnel conducted a surprise inspection inside the cells.

Senior Inspector Larry Fuentes, jail warden of MBDJ-Sica, said no illegal drugs and bladed weapons were recovered during the operation.

The non-recovery of illegal drugs was attributed to the strict security enforced by the jail management among the visitors.

The greyhound operation is a continuous campaign of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology to cleanse the jail facilities of illegal items.
