POLICE Officer 2 Roldan Florentino, who is assigned in the San Francisco Police Station in Camotes, was allegedly robbed and mauled Thursday dawn, December 28, on Miñoza Street, Barangay Talamban, Cebu City.

The Talamban Police Station responded to a trouble alarm that led to the arrest of Ian Paul Cabarrubias, 33, and the rescue of five minors.

Florentino, 36, was buying something from the convenience store and when he returned to his motorcycle, it was damaged.

He asked for help from the group having a drinking spree beside his motorcycle.

The group did not help him instead mauled him.

When Florentino declared that he was a police officer, the group shouted, "Police diay ka? Abusado ni (You're a police? You're an abuser)," and allegedly smashed bottles on his head.

They also allegedly took his Glock 17 loaded with 16 live bullets and P3,800.

Senior Inspector Arieza Otida, chief of the Talamban police, said that they are conducting a hot pursuit operation against Christian Dionson, Jefferson Dionsion, Ryan Fortuna and businessman Rico Dionson.

"We viewed the close-circuit television and saw the businessman help one of the suspects escape and when we tried to invite him for interrogation, he didn't cooperate," Otida said.

VoxPop Cebu is still awaiting the businessman's statement on the issue. (JOB/VoxPop Cebu)
