THE police officer assigned in Lapu-Lapu City who allegedly threatened to kill a reporter may be transferred to the Cordillera Administrative Region if proven guilty.
Chief Superintendent Noli Taliño, the Police Regional Office Central Visayas director, said he has ordered an investigation on the incident involving Senior Police Officer 2 Esnang Sarapuddin and Norman Mendoza of dySS Super Radyo.
Sarapuddin allegedly threatened Mendoza when the latter had a coverage in Barangay Pajo in Lapu-Lapu City last September 2.
Mendoza had the incident recorded by the Lapu-Lapu Police Station 3 last September 6.
Mendoza said earlier that he was covering a demolition under the Mandaue Mactan Bridge last September 2 when Sarapuddin of the Lapu-Lapu Tourist Police confronted him and asked why the reporter took videos of him.
But Mendoza said he was not taking video, but was writing his breaking news story.
The two also had a run-in last May 8 when Mendoza tried to get the story of a British national who hit a Singaporean with a wrench.
Taliño said Thursday that Sarapuddin's transfer will only take effect if he is proven guilty.
