THE Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) formed a tracker team to monitor and apprehend suspects in various robbery and theft incidents in the city.
BCPO Acting Director Jack Wanky presented on Thursday, July 27, the personalities they have identified and included in the headquarters’ rogues gallery involved in the said crimes.
Wanky said most of the robbery suspects have previous criminal records and were out on a bail.
Among those presented was notorious robber Arnold “Aki” Cuadra of Purok Sigay, Barangay 2, whose group also recently hit neighboring cities of Talisay and Silay.
Wanky said Cuadra’s group is considered to be organized with 10 high-profile members. They use rent-a-car vehicles to operate.
Superintendent Levy Pangue, chief of Investigation and Detection Management Unit of BCPO, said that in the past two weeks, the BCPO has recorded 11 robbery incidents.
He added that Cuadra has arrest warrants for violation of Sections 5 (dangerous drugs), and 11 and 12 (possession of dangerous drugs and paraphernalia) of Republic Act of 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Because of the alarming robbery incidents, Wanky said a businessman, whose name was withheld, has offered to give P20,000 cash reward to anyone who can provide information on the whereabouts of Cuadra and his group.
Wanky thanked the businessman, who also helps the police in their anti-criminality campaign by urging the community to coordinate with the authorities.
On Wednesday, July 25, Wanky issued a directive for the immediate arrest of Cuadra after his group robbed a businessman and his daughter in Barangay Villamonte on Tuesday night.
On Monday, Cuadra’s group also robbed two stalls of Angel’s Burger – in Barangay Pahanocoy, Bacolod City and in Barangay Zone 4-A, Talisay City.
Two weeks ago, they also robbed a 19-year- old student, who was riding a pedicab on her way home in Barangay Guinhalaran, Silay City.
Cuadra is the leader of the group and one of the members, Alvin Martinez, also known as “Spiderman,” was arrested in Barangay Alijis last January, but he was able to post bail.
