CAMP OLIVAS -- Two suspected illegal recruiters were arrested during an entrapment operation conducted by the local police in Barangay Townsite, Limay, Bataan, on February 1.
Suspects Mark Montanez and Dominador Luzano, both of Bataan, reportedly promised to their victims jobs at San Miguel Corporation (SMC).
Chief Superintendent Amador Corpus, Police Regional Office (PRO)-Central Luzon director, said joint operatives of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) of Bataan and Bataan Provincial Intelligence Branch conducted the operation, resulting in the suspect's arrest.
Corpus said Montanez and Luzano were caught after receiving money from the victims through money transfer worth P2,800.
The victims said they were promised jobs as factory workers in SMC and were asked to pay P2,800 for processing fee.
Police also confiscated from the suspects a money transfer receipt, voter's ID and provincial health card.
Corpus said the operation stemmed from the request of SMC head office to conduct entrapment operations against fake SMC employees who have been using the name of the company to collect money from applicants. (Ric Sapnu)
